Organic Golden Jojoba Oil

Organic Golden Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil is a versatile, golden-colored oil derived from the jojoba plant's seeds, which are native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. Jojoba oil (pronounced ho-HO-ba) has been used for centuries for its potential health benefits, particularly in traditional medicine practices by indigenous people in the region. In recent years, jojoba oil has gained popularity as a skincare ingredient due to its ability to mimic the natural sebum (oil) produced by the skin, helping to regulate oil production and improve the overall balance of the skin. Jojoba oil is rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, D, and E, and is also a good source of fatty acids, including oleic and linoleic acids. These nutrients may help to hydrate and nourish the skin, improving its overall appearance and texture. Jojoba oil is easily absorbed by the skin and is non-comedogenic, making it suitable for all skin types, including oily or acne-prone skin.

Jojoba oil is a result of cold-pressing the seeds of the Jojoba plant (Simmondsia chinensis). Cold-pressing limits the loss of phytonutrient compounds that are often sensitive to heat. Jojoba oil is a superstar among face oils, and for a good reason.

It is the only plant that stores liquid wax in its seeds.

The liquid wax has an almost identical structure to the sebum produced by our skin and increases Jojoba oil's affinity with our skin. It is non-toxic, non-allergenic, non-comedogenic, and shelf-stable. All these factors make Jojoba oil an ideal carrier oil for our body care products.

WHAT IS JOJOBA OIL?

Jojoba oil restores balance to the skin, enabling it to behave as nature intended. One of the reasons we are so excited about Jojoba oil is that it contains a potent concentration of vitamins and minerals that promote the growth of healthy skin cells. It is effective on even the most sensitive of skin. Its ease of absorption makes Jojoba very effective at getting these vital nutrients into our skin.

Wax esters are essential for skin health and function to keep the skin plump and supple. Our ability to produce wax esters reduces with age resulting in dry, flaky skin and premature aging.

Jojoba Oil has been shown to support and preserve skin hydration while offering pore-cleansing properties, balancing oil production, and reducing skin irritation.

SKIN HEALTH BENEFITS OF JOJOBA OIL

The beauty-boosting properties of Jojoba are due to its unique and varied fatty acid profile, which is not seen in other oils. The primary phytochemicals found in Jojoba oil responsible for its skin health benefits are:

Gadoleic acid (Eicosenoic acid) possesses emollient properties that soothe and hydrate the skin. Additionally, it does not block pores, is readily absorbed, and balances oil production by the skin.

Erucic acid acts as an antioxidant with natural lubricant properties that soothe and hydrate while leaving a matte and silky texture.

Oleic acid promotes and maintains the suppleness, radiance, and softness of the skin. Additionally, oleic acid acts as an antioxidant and reduces the appearance of aging while reducing irritation and inflammation.

Palmitic acid is an antioxidant that promotes softening, soothing, and skin hydration.

Palmitoleic acid delays premature aging by improving skin elasticity. Additionally, it is deeply moisturizing, promotes toning, and boosts a radiant complexion.

Stearic acid offers pore-cleansing properties while softening and protecting the skin by binding water and oil.

Behenic acid is known to soothe, lubricate, and hydrate the skin while supporting the balance of our skin's natural oils.

Vitamin E (alpha, delta, & gamma-tocopherol) is known to possess antioxidant properties that slow the effects of aging while improving circulation. Vitamin E also helps to prevent moisture loss, cleanse pores, balance oil production, soothe damaged skin, and provide healing support to scarred or blemished skin.

Vitamin B is known to improve the skin's ability to retain moisture, balance complexion and pigmentation, promote healing wounds and blemishes, and slow the effects of aging.

WHAT SKIN TYPE SHOULD USE JOJOBA OIL?

Jojoba oil is highly compatible with all skin types, even oily and acne-prone skin. Oily and non-oily dry skin can benefit from face oil to promote optimal health.

All skin types naturally produce oil, a combination of lipids, cholesterol, and ceramides, to varying degrees. The skin's oil production can overcompensate in response to irritation, both from environmental and chemical damage.

Often, to improve our appearance, we reach for various products to dry, tone, and treat multiple skin issues. In reality, these products strip away the natural oils our skin uses to protect itself, leading to a vicious cycle of oil overproduction.

Using an organic face oil containing Jojoba can help support the skin's health by bringing balance to oil production and reducing irritation while promoting a radiant complexion.

Here is a breakdown of how Jojoba oil interacts with each of the various skin types:

• Oily skin: Jojoba oil is similar in composition to the skin's natural sebum, making it a good choice for balancing oily skin. Its non-greasy texture can help regulate oil production, preventing the skin from becoming too oily.

• Dry skin: Jojoba oil contains vitamins and minerals that can help hydrate and moisturize dry skin.Sensitive skin: Jojoba oil has anti-inflammatory properties that help soothe and calm irritated or sensitive skin.

• Acne-prone skin: Jojoba oil is non-comedogenic, meaning it won't clog pores or lead to breakouts.

• Aging skin: Jojoba oil is rich in antioxidants that can help protect the skin from damaging free radicals and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
